SAN HOLO - REMIX GENIUS

I have to thank my Barry's Bootcamp coach for not only getting my bootay into summer shape but for introducing me to my new favorite remix artist -- SAN HOLO! I barely realized I was dying on the treadmill because I was so distracted by how kick ass his remix of Outkast's Ms. Jackson is! Check it out and a few other favs of mine below (We clearly share a love for early 00s pop hop):

CULT CALENDAR 3/30/15

WHAT'S UP IN NEW YORK CITY ART, MUSIC, & FASHION

CULT EDITOR'S TOP EVENTS TO HIT THIS WEEK

TWIN SHADOW & LOLAWOLF

MAR 31st, doors @ 8PM, show @ 9PM at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, 66 N. 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11249

Pretty bummed this MUST-SEE duo of on-the-rise artists is currently SOLD OUT, but if you can manage to snag some tickets definitely get involved! The venue is solid and Twin Shadow's chill, romantic jams are the perfect complement to opening band Lolawolf's sugary fashion vibes. Tickets here

LAUREN BACALL: THE LOOK

NOW - APRIL 4th at the Gallery @ FIT, 227 W 27th St, New York, NY 10001

Classic Hollwood glamour on display? Yep, I'm in: "Lauren Bacall: The Look is a celebration of the film and theater star's unique style. Bacall's own garments take the spotlight in this exhibition which also explores Bacall's own personal relationships with several of the fashion designers who dressed her."

CODY SIMPSON @ The Bowery Ballroom

APRIL 6th, Doors @ 8PM, show @ 9PM at The Bowery Ballroom 6 Delancey Street, New York, NY 10002

I'm going to be honest here and admit that I don't know a single Cody Simpson song or even what style of music he plays (Spotify research to come). I DO know, however, that he currently dates one of fashion's hottest faces and CULT favorite cool girl, Gigi Hadid. Chances of a Gigi sighting + music at one of my favorite NYC venues? Yep, GOING. Get your tickets here

SEDUCERS

NOW - APRIL 17th at Greenpoint Terminal Gallery, 67 West St. #320, Brooklyn, NY 11222

I've yet to venture to any galleries in Greenpoint Brooklyn, so a group exhibition about the escapism of seduction seems like the best way to lose my Greenpoint gallery virginity! Curated by Evie Falci, the show features the works of seven emerging artists influenced by eroticism as in this essay clip by Audre Lorde, "The erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings. It is an internal sense of satisfaction to which, once we have experienced it, we know we can aspire. For having experienced the fullness of this depth of feeling and recognized power, in honor and self-respect we can require no less of ourselves…"
